3001 sintered nickel plain bearing with graphite 

Material - Characteristics

 

Sintered metal material consisting of highly pure nickel with an additive of graphite, (99,9% pure, chemical neutral electro- graphite), which is enclosed pre-loaded in micro distribution.

 

As result, a very high corrosion resistance of the material can be achieved.

 

The alloy makes a quick, self-lubricating performance possible through the building-up of a firmly adhering graphite film on the mating material.

 

Attention should be paid to the fact, that the application range of this higly pure nickel alloy is limited to applications in liquid environments.

Recommended minimum wall thickness a: (d = Ø bearing hole)

a = √ (d ⋅ 0,5) up to 10 N/mm²
a = √ (d ⋅ 0,6) orver 10 to 25 N/mm²
a = √ (d ⋅ 0,8) over 25 N/mm²

Thermal expansion has to be taken into account at temperatures above 80 °C.

 

 

Mating Material

surface roughness Ra = 0,2 μm up to 0,8 μm
minimum hardness

> 150 HB

recommended hardness > 45HRC

 

Attention:  the counterpart should contain only few amounts of nickel (amount of Ni < 5%)
