HIGH-TEMPERATURE PLAIN BEARINGS

Iron-nickel sintered metal – maintenance-free

MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICS

The base of the metallic matrix is iron powder with the addition of nickel, copper and molybdenum to improve heat and scale resistance.

Solid lubricant (99.9% high-purity, chemically neutral electro graphite) is additionally incorporated, embedded under pre-stress in micro-fine distribution.

The alloy, produced using the company’s proprietary process, enables rapid self-lubricating function by building up a firmly adhering graphite film from the alloy on the mating surface.

FOR BEARING DESIGNFOR BEARING DESIGN

Recommended minimum wall thickness a: (d = Ø bearing bore)

a = √ (d ⋅ 0,5)up to 10 N/mm²
a = √ (d ⋅ 0,6)above 10 bis 25 N/mm²
a = √ (d ⋅ 0,8)above 25 N/mm²

Recommended fit for the plain bearing and mating components

Shafth7
Housing boreH7
Plain bearing boreC7 (results in approx. D8 after installation)
Plain bearing outer diameterr6

At plain bearing temperatures above 80 °C, thermal expansion must be taken into account.

MATING MATERIAL

Surface roughnessRa = 0,2 μm bis 0,8 μm
Minimum hardness> 180 HB recommended hardness > 45HRC

To achieve optimal sliding and wear properties, a heat-resistant, scale-free engineering steel with a surface hardness of at least 45 HRC (cold condition) should be used.
